One hundred and twenty-seven Class 45 Diesel-Electric Type 3 1Co-1Co Locomotives were built at BR Derby and Crewe between 1960-62. They were withdrawn by 1989.
Class 45/0 - The original Class 45s
Class 45/1 - Fifty Class 45/0s were rebuilt at BR Derby between 1973-75 and reclassified as 45/1. The Steam Heating was removed and an Alternator instaled to supply Electric Train Heating
